Diana Penty talks about her strong character in 'Parmanu'

After unending amount of legal battles and controversies, John Abraham’s ‘Parmanu’ will finally hit the big screens this weekend. ‘Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran’ is based on the true story of how India conducted nuclear tests at Pokhran in 1998. So far Diana Penty who is the lead actress opposite John in this powerful film, hasn’t bagged too many successful films in her kitty.When asked about the reasons behind not taking up projects, she told a daily that there are several reasons behind this decision. She professed that after ‘Cocktail’, she was waiting to find the next project as she was unsure of the kind of films which she wants to be a part of. After sometime, she revealed that she read the script of ‘Happy Bhag Jayegi’ which gave her the opportunity to break out of the character she played in ‘Cocktail’.


Talking about ‘Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran’ and her role in the film she stated that the script is tight and pacy which made her get completely engrossed. She averred that her character in the film is extremely strong in the male-dominated film. She expressed how she was getting an opportunity to tell people a chapter that changed our history. She felt proud after reading the script, and knew that she had to be a part of it.
