Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan crosses Rs 260 crore mark at the Chinese box office

Bajrangi Bhaijaan now stands with the grand total of Rs 886.14 crore at the global box office

Despite several new releases and facing stiff competition from Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther, Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan has managed to hold well at the Chinese box office. The cross-border social drama has raked in Rs 260.14 crore till now, which is commendable since the film is the first outing of Salman Khan in China. Bajrangi Bhaijaan now stands with the grand total of Rs 886.14 crore at the global box office. The film is expected to cross the Rs 900 crore mark by the end of this weekend at the ticket window.

The film which is released as Little Lolita Monkey God Uncle is directed by Kabir Khan, who has collaborated with Salman for Ek Tha Tiger and Tubelight. It is produced under the banners of Salman Khan Films and Eros International and also stars Harshali Malhotra, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sharat Saxena in pivotal roles. The film was released in 8000 screens in its opening week making it the widest Bollywood release in China. Talking about the success story in the Chinese market Dangal had earned Rs 1200 crore, while Secret Superstar collected over Rs 800 crore in its theatrical run.

The story of Bajrangi Bhaijaan is about an ardent devotee of Hindu deity Hanuman, and his arduous journey to reunite a six-year-old Pakistani girl who somehow gets lost in India with her parents, back to her hometown in Pakistan.
