Tamil media had been speculating that director AL Vijay and actress Sai Pallavi are in a relationship. While the duo worked for the film Kanam, a Telugu-Tamil bilingual, the film turned out to be a damp squib. But some section of media had speculated that Sai Pallavi and Vijay are seeing each other. In fact, rumours had it that the duo would even enter into wedlock. These rumours were widespread on social media platforms causing embarrassment to Vijay and Sai Pallavi.

Quashing all those rumours as baseless, Vijay said there is no truth in gossips about him and Sai Pallavi. "Sai Pallavi is just a good friend," said Vijay. Vijay also said there is no truth about him getting married either.AL Vijay and Amala Paul were in a relationship. The duo has got married. But in no time, differences popped out and they have separated. Since then, both Amala and Vijay are being linked up with their colleagues respectively.

Meanwhile, Sai Pallavi chose to be silent on rumours. Earlier, she had stated that she wouldn't get married and had said she would remain unmarried.
